I went into this book without knowing much about it and was expecting a mystery, based on title alone. Once I realized it wasn’t and settled in, I really enjoyed this book. The tone is very strange - kind of deadpan funny at times while also being very melancholic. The author did an excellent job of writing multi-faceted characters and she made me feel empathetic toward each one.

I recommend this one for folks who like character-focused coming of age stories. And now that I’m thinking about it, it maybe gave me a bit of Sally Rooney vibes (except the author uses quotation marks

This book reminded me of Thunderstruck and Other Stories: it has the strength, the energy and the wit of a short story, but somehow the author manages to keep it alive for 350 pages.
A beautiful story of grief and love, touching in its simplicity. By the end of it I was completely broken.

Even more interesting after this book presentation.
