Taylor Jenkins Reid continues to write about life beautifully. I love how she is able to bottle up little pieces of complex human problems and serve them in a story.
Plot: This novel is about a 31 year old woman who gets engaged to a wonderful man years and after her former husband and high school sweetheart is lost at sea and announced dead. When he turns up 3.5 years later - what does she do?
This book deals with grief as well as some of the less polished parts of growing up like how experiencing life changes you, and it’s okay to want something different than your younger self. We don’t talk about that as much as we should when we get older. We grow and change and adapt and the person we are today is never going to be the same as the person we were in the past, we are a summation of that person… who is going to continue changing. La la land vibes from this one for sure.

2.5* - it's fine I guess. definitely not my favorite taylor jenkins reid, probably reflective of my hatred of love triangles, but while the mc had a valid reason, I still felt like this was very predictable and never really gave me anything new.

Chick Lit at it's finest
If you're looking for a happy beach read, this is it. Quick paced with just the right amount of sentimentality, this is a great choice for light entertainment.
