I didn't realise I was reading a young adult book but I started to notice signs about a quarter of the way in. Pardon the pun but it was rather corny, and had too much "rule of cool".

narrator was mostly neutral for these ears except when voicing the protagonist's dad. sounded way too old. the book itself is an effective slasher in the absurd john saul vein of a
town of evil adults
and I appreciated that.

Honestly, I’m pretty sure this was the worst book I’ve ever read. For the record, I’ve never given a book one star up until this point.

Entertaining slasher, but the characters aren't loveable and there's a lot of little things that are frustrating
how the hell did what's his name end up being pardoned? He's the instigator for all the issues! And why did the adults want to kill an entire generation all because of one group of kids, of which two were pardoned and asked to join their plan? And why did the MC hang out with them and seemingly want to be friends with these terrible teens that clearly don't care about anyone else nor if their pranks kill people?
