Quite literally one of the worst books I have ever read.

Writing was atrocious, juvenile, and awkward.

Characters were flat and unrealistic.

Plot was predictable and wholly uninteresting.

I really just wanted a fun slasher book, but this couldn't even deliver the bare minimum.

The writing and character development clearly not the focus, but still a fun horror book.

HOLY CRAP I LOVED THIS BOOK! Review to come...

Boomers vs TikTokers with a 70s slasher sauce, I loved it.

So l just finished Clown in a Cornfield by @adamcesare & this is what I thought about it. Clown in a Cornfield is a sharp, blood-soaked YA slasher. When teenager Quinn moves to the small town of Kettle Springs, she discovers a community divided - bitter adults against reckless teens. But when the town's mascot, Frendo the Clown seems to start stalking the cornfields with murderous intent, the clash quickly turns deadly. I have to admit that I feel like the book started off a bit slow & definitely took its time, building the atmosphere & giving you a feel for the main characters & I personally was a little bored in the beginning, because I was anticipating a slasher & it somehow seemed to drag on. But once the murderous action actually kicked in, it really pulled me in with some amazing slasher tropes. I haven't read many slashers (yet ), but I really enjoyed the way, Ceasar was able to really bring the creepy atmosphere & thrilling „what's gonna happen next" - vibes, that gave you goosebumps. As soon as the slasher action kicked in, I barely could stop reading. All in all I feel like „Clown in a Cornfield" was a really fun read, absolutely perfect for summerween & I definitely recommend this book to anyone, who maybe is new to the slasher genre & wants to dip their toes is ( as long as your are good with some gore ).
