I enjoyed this ending to the trilogy, there were numerous conflicts within the plot to work through and all of them felt well thought out and none of the endings seemed like a quick afterthought tied up with a simplistic conclusion close to the end which I appreciated. There was finally some STEAM in this one! Well written and a good amount of spice :) overall I'm very happy I read these books and I look forward to meeting the author at BB4E this summer!
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We met Lark and Kane in previous books and we start this book with Lark basically on house arrest by her brother after almost dying at the hands of a lunatic. Lark has a new client who sees a ghost on the street corner by her house and she wants her to investigate. When she finds out the truth of the young Asian woman she's called to meet Kane and Jacob's about a body and lowandbehold.. it's the woman's body...but how? Lark is sure the woman that hired her is sketchy and she's gonna find out what she's hiding. Kane and Lark go on their first real date and she's learned there is more to Kane than meets the eyes. It'd family dinner at Larks moms house and as soon as they walk in her mom knows what Kane is...wth! There are so mnay secrets and she's determined to find out the truth. Things have taken a turn for the worse and Lark is running in all directions...from dealing with Gregor and Leviathan, plus her moms illness and finding out the truth of her heritage. Will Lark prevail or will it be her downfall?
An explosive conclusion to a really fun series. I was worried some plot lines would be left unfinished just due to the sheer amount of things going on but you get answers to everything.
I love the world and the characters in it. This book is a satisfying end but I wish it would keep going just so I could keep reading it. There's definitely room for spinoffs within this universe.
The pacing is a little quick for me still (which makes sense given how much needed to progress to be wrapped up) and occasionally the writing is repetitive in a way that's distracting but I'd absolutely recommend this series to someone looking for a quick paranormal romance with suspense, mystery, and action in a unique urban fantasy setting.

I received an ARC ebook for an honest review.
First of all, holy shiznat what a wild ride to a perfect ending. Connor and Lark ugh I just love them together, honestly we all love a growly asshole for our heroines.
Ok so Levi, you can die bitch. I mean I did kind of like him, and I was hoping for the best but nah he just had to be a cosmic sizes asshole, Hudson good on yah man.
Jacob's, I absolutely love him and his personality, and I think we should get books about him. I mean I think we all want to know more about him.
Logan & Brandon, gah I just love these two for each other, I also love how they are both so protective of Lark. So much love him this book.
This trilogy will forever stay in my top favorites. I loved the world building and the magic and most of the characters. I feel like we need a novella of Lark and Conner because I'm greedy for them and need them to have babies lol.
All in all 5 stars from me.

This series just keeps getting better with each book. Death Taker is jam packed with plot… we learn more about Lark’s family history & her brother’s abilities, meet some of Kang’s family and don’t get me started on Jacobs! The storyline going on within the Veil and the vampire drama really move the story along and of course they have a great case to work on. Oh, and don’t forget the absolutely wicked spicy scenes (maybe don’t read in public - savor at home).
I love when I feel like all the questions I have throughout a trilogy are answered by the end and I can’t think of any loose ends after reading the final installment (but I’d love to have more of Lark & Connor)
When I think of all the big things that happen in this book, I realize it could have easily fallen into the trap of feeling rushed but luckily that did not happen. The story played out very organically, a testament to the skill of the author.
I was beyond excited to receive an ARC of this book. Thanks to the publisher & author for the opportunity!

I love this trilogy and think Lark’s story wrapped up nicely.
