I enjoyed this book as an escape from a steady stream of nonfiction books I'd been reading. It was a bit dull, but in a nice calming way. It made me feel like someone was updating me on their life over coffee.

These Irish authors have ACTUALLY nailed it!
It took me a week to finish reading this book because it was so perfect and I really didn't want it to come to an end.
There wasn't much of a plot but I think that was the point; that a novel can go through nothing mind-blowing but still be, by nature, mind-blowing!
A fun fact about this book is when characters speak, there's no quotation mark , and still they are so distinctive and well-written that you know exactly who the speaker is.
The characters are also very much flawed. They make bad decisions, they push away people who are trying to help them and love them, but that's what makes it so real, isn't it? I mean, we all make mistakes anyway and seeing a character that is not "perfect" makes you feel the book.
The ideas the book discussed were spotless! Overall the idea of "beautiful world where are you" is "normal people" searching through every single detail of our normal lives to find beauty and _spoiler alert_ it's not gonna be easy.
All in all, this book is really going to be one of my all time favourites.

This book was absolutely beautiful, such a marvel to read. At times it was very depressing, the journey of the book was so wonderful and immersive. I loved it

This book nearly gave me a reading slump. Not really my cup of tea but i did love the steamy moments.

I devoured this book. I just love Rooney’s writing so much, her very direct descriptions, her dialogs. Especially the dialogs. My heart ached vividly while reading, here writing brings me to tears often, or makes my laugh audibly. It’s sometimes difficult to read, like her other novels, because it disturbs me, but in a good way. I was a little taken aback by the email parts at the beginning, but I ended up liking them actually. It made me want to reread her other books.
Graphic: Suicidal thoughts, Sexual content, and Mental illness
Moderate: Alcohol
Minor: Pandemic/Epidemic, Pregnancy, and Toxic friendship
