An entertaining read that had a bit of a different plot. The romance was cute, and I really wish that I had Trevor going to my school. I loved the ending, and i'm happy that I already have the second one, because I neeed to know what happens. I loved Laila's and Addie's friendship, and I hated Duke (which is to be expected). It was humorous and light, and I really enjoyed it.
This was a fun step away from West's usual fare but she still had the classic love stories--two in fact! The abilities of the characters was really fun and I enjoyed the low-key mystery. It was just another really enjoyable book from one of my favorite authors. I can't wait to read the second one!
I went into this book thinking it'd be a typical YA novel, it definitely wasn't. This book was amazing! I really liked the unique plot and the way the story was written. The romance was also interesting since I wouldn't say it was a love triangle of the typical nature, as the two guys weren't really competing with each other for Addie's affections! All I have to say is Trevor is sheer perfection. <3
Read June 4-5 2014, Reread June 10-11 2016.
I loved this book the first time I read it, and I recently read the sequel but had forgotten so much of this story that I decided to reread it again. I enjoyed it just as much as I did before.
I loved the concept of a Paranormal community in the midst of regular "Norm" people, and I loved seeing how things play out when Addie Searches between two paths. It's also such a great way to have a love triangle without it actually being a love triangle. I really love the way the story is told, and needless to say, I'm in love with Trevor. =)

The only word to describe this book is: undescribable. (in a good way)
Seriously, add this book to your to-read list.

I was excited to start this book. The blurb seemed promising when I read it and this was also a recommendation from a friend in Goodreads.
This book is told by Addison Coleman’s, the main protagonist and probably the girl on the cover, point of view and she’s a Searcher. Someone with a special ability that can see the future and people with special abilities live in some paranormal compound. There’s also a place for the normal people, like mundane ones. They’re often referred as “Norms". She’s also torn between a choice of staying either with her mother or her father after they decided on getting a divorce.
I have never read something like this before and it’s quite confusing at the start because of the Search she’s making. It’s two paths so every chapter is a different scenario. It’s like, this chapter is the path where she chose to be with her mom and the next chapter, her dad. Then back to her mom.
Addie’s a smart girl and from reading the book, you could see the different sides of her in between the paths and how she grows as a character. I like her dad and I have missed feelings for her mom but somehow she’s still a mother and she cares for her daughter. I had to get a better grip on her best friend’s, personality though. In one of the two paths, she’s kind of pushy or someone trying too hard to prove a point to a person who doesn’t really feel comfortable with the situation. It bothered me when all she kept telling Addie of how hot Duke was. Not saying she’s a bad friend but she should really consider that Addie’s parents just got divorced, her best friend doesn’t like the guy, she needs a break. But I also want to roll my eyes at Addie, she doesn’t like him but she keeps thinking about him. Typical. But I like Trevor. He’s a sweetheart and I like him.
The turn of events weren’t surprising for me but a certain tragedy kind of did. The idea for this story is cool. I gotta say cool because it really is to me. I enjoyed the story and the change of scene in every chapter and even though I had those minor issues, I still got the hang of it. So, 4 stars.

let me just start off by saying that I LOVED THIS BOOK! i had been looking for a book that kept my interest, was new, exciting, different, etc. this book was all of those things and more. i had just gotten done with matched, thought it was okay, and couldn't even finish the second one. i wanted something that had me excited to read! a book that made me defy my mean boss by reading it secretly throughout the day on my computer!
this book is about addie and her "superpower" ability to see into the future. however, she can only search her own future AND if she has a choice she needs to make. the book plays out both options for her. i thought i might get confused, going back and forth in-between time like that, but i didn't. i always knew what was going on. i also thought from pretty early on in the book that i knew what was going to happen in the end, but ALAS, i was wrong! the ONLY time i like being wrong is when it comes to what i think is going to happen in a book. that is called being pleasantly surprised :)
as soon as i finished the book and realized it was a series, i threw myself into the internet looking for when book #2 comes out! lucky me, it came out a week ago! this was my face when i discovered it was out:

you need to read this book!

I was totally fascinated by this book. I loved it, and I couldn't get enough, which is why I immediately bought the sequel that I'm halfway through right now. The writing is great and I loved Addy and Laila. The whole concept of Divergence (which is totally different than the trilogy by the same name ;)) was amazing. Imagine being able to Search both potential paths when you make a decision so you always made the right one? How cool would that be?
Oh my gosh! This book! This book, guys! So many feels. I can't even handle this right now. Video review here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2vXG8TJ_QtI
