One of the reasons I wanted to read this series is to see how it differs from the show and to compare and contrast them. This book was not a let down (as if it ever could have been!) The story lines were engaging, the writing was beautiful, and the characters will wrench your heart out. A wonderful addition to this series and I can't wait to see what book three has to offer! I would recommend this book. 5 out of 5 stars.

As with the first book in this series (Ross Poldark), Demelza was another page turner with Grahams excellent writing style drawing the reader into the lives of the characters in 18th century Cornwall... on to the next book, Jeremy Poldark!

I really did love it. It is almost exactly like the show!

I liked this book better than the first, as more subplots and characters were developed. It left off very abruptly, which was dissatisfying, but a good way to get me to read the 3rd book!
