Series: Billionaire Heists #1
Rating: 5 stars - I loved it!

Monroe has done everything she can to break away from her father’s criminal past, unfortunately when her brother finds himself in trouble she finds herself tasked with stealing from a billionaire.

I love a good heist romance and this one really worked for me. Monroe was a kind, smart, and sassy heroine. She will do anything to protect her brother, even break her oath to not steal. I adored her work ethic, her determination to protect her brother, and her ability to stand up to Zane and his friends. She doesn’t let Zane’s wealth play a part in their relationship, which is just what he needs.

Zane was a smart and successful man who no longer trusts people. He expects everyone to be in search of money or to use him to climb the corporate ladder. With Monroe, he finds himself letting his guard down and finding that not everyone is out to get him. I just adored these two and their danger filled relationship.

Overall, this was a wonderful and action packed start to a new series. I really loved Zane and Monroe, and I can’t wait to see Liam and Mav fall in love.

I liked it a lot, but not quite as good as the Norcross Series.

Good grief - read this with a glass of water nearby and lock everyone out of the house. You need to immerse yourself in this fab new world of Ms Hackett!

Billionaires they may be but Zane and his best buds are anything but your typical playboys.

Zane is a numbers guy, always has been. He's also a self made Billionaire. He still has his feet on the ground - even if he lives high up in the BEST apartment. He spoils his mother and wants to buy her all the things she couldn't have while bringing him up as a single mother. But someone else has their eyes on the pretty but very expensive necklace.

Monroe may be the daughter of a thief but she is determined to be a straight arrow. Her brother, however, has a habit of finding trouble. This time the trouble has reached her. Someone wants her to do some cat burglary and steal from Zane Roth. But when she carries out some recon she actually meets Zane and there is most definitely a zing between them! Can she really rob the handsome financier? Will she still get her brother back if she doesn't go through with it?

OOOOH there is so much to enjoy in this new series. Immerse yourself in the world of the rich and infamous. Zane is a great hero. A mix of playboy, Alpha protector, and concerned male. He is also very nice to his mother, always a good sign LOL. Monroe is perfect as the conflicted heroine. It seems no matter how hard she tries, someone always wants to use her father's exploits against her. Nice mix of banter, action, and smexy times. The banter between Zane and his buddies is fabulous and I have to admit that Mav maybe my "boyfriend" from this series. There's just something about a grumpy gus that draws me in LOL. My favourite scene involves a Piano - HAWT!

Just cuz the main dude is rich doesn’t mean that you have to call him “billionaire bachelor” CONSTANTLY. Or have all the characters call him billionaire bachelor. Gotta be honest, I’d put money that the majority of people have no clue who the rich dudes on Wall Street are. I can name the Gates/ Bezos/ and Zuckerburg but that’s it. No other uber rich dudes come to mind. So why does everyone know his name/his face and gawk about it? Tbh maybe I'm just a bit too eat the rich for this story line.

Overall I’m once again disappointed in this author. I’m so sick of the female thief who doesn’t really wanna be a thief but gets blackmailed into it. It’s soooo 2013. Let’s have a thief who’s like stoked to be a thief. Proud of her skills. The rich dudes are stealing from the country so why can’t she? It’s just depressing when the entire book is her going “oh billionaire bachelor is so hot,” “the gulf between us is huge,” “oh I’m so sad because I’m BreAkiNg the lawwwwwwww and i wanna be a GOOD girl.”

Ugh

Hackett give me someone like Eve from the first Eon book or like 90% of the heroines from the HELL Squad, or THS or the Team 22 books. I just think she shines more when she’s writing more fantastical (in a sci fi, not real life, not as in dragons) story. Her series set in the “real” world have been disappointing for me. Also- she seems to be moving towards writing about rich dudes exclusively? Between Norcross and this, we aren't seeing any of her more interesting world building.
