As a female service industry worker in Door County, I felt Emily & I are kindred spirits.
Sally Collins included many endearing/irritating quirks of industry life in DoCo - I was tickled pink to see references such as RC soda, not DC cherry pie, and the newly weds & nearly deads tucked into the details of this book.
Collins expertly wove the struggles of her characters into their storylines and relationships with each other. (Trigger warnings: abandonment, alcoholism, religious trauma, sexual trauma.)
I was only halfway through this book when I began recommending it to every reader I know! Looking forward to more novels by Collins.
