I truly disliked this book.

The writing itself isn't that bad, but the beginning and end of this book really are. The beginning is extremely boring and filled with superficial philosophy,
the long car ride does really feel like one, it´s never-ending
the end made me full of rage, I already wasn't enjoying this book but the ending really felt like I had wasted hours of my life,
the author pulled the it was all a dream shtick
. The middle part didn't feel as bad.

As for the characters, I cannot stand the main one, (whose POV we always follow) I was actually constantly rooting for her death. I am aware she represents more than appears at first sight, but I still find her insufferable.

On a brighter note, or darker in this case, I felt the tense and ominous environment was really well maintained from the half point onwards, but this wasn't enough to save this book for me.

This was a bit of a mixed pot. The beginning and middle of the book are interesting and there’s some interesting philosophical points brought up in these sections. However, I found the third act of this book very difficult to get through, not particularly engaging and at times painfully jumpy. The ending brought everything back together in an interesting way though. I’d say it’s worth a read but maybe don’t add it to the top of your reading list.

Boof. This book was something else, an all-time favorite for sure. I could talk about it for days (quite literally, since that’s what happened when it wrapped up). I believe it’s labeled as a medium or slow paced read, however, I knocked this thing out in one afternoon (via audible). Would strongly recommend reading twice in a row, so you can go back and highlight the significance of previous scenes. Absolutely incredible.

I never wrote a full review for this book at the time because I didn’t know how.

This book was so complex in a way that in full sincerity, changed the trajectory of my life. It covers mental health and the challenges of dealing with it in a way that I feel, no other book has covered in such a way before- not one that I’ve yet read. You find yourself on the edge of your seat just wondering, what the fuck is going on. But not in a negative way.
Give a psychological thriller a deep and complex hidden meaning and this book is what you get from that.

The writing style is beautiful, the story telling of the characters lives got you attached- just to reach the final fall at the end and realize how truly special unimportant seeming things are to us when the end finds us. That we are all truly a mosaic of everything good and bad that’s ever happened to us in our lives.

This book is captivating, complex and a little creepy. I loved it, it's a psychological thriller that keeps you guessing till the end. It was a bit hard to follow till the end, but that was just part of the fun. If you aren't into thrillers or confusing books that put a lot onto you as the reader to take from the book, you won't like it. I liked it cuz I'm a sad bitch who loves vague books so I can make up my own ending.
