Esperaba más de este libro pero la verdad no me gustó tanto; la narración está buena pero no hay romance ¿? osea entiendo que está inspirada en la historia de Hades y Persephone pero para eso la autora hubiera catalogado este libro solo como "Dark" y listo, mejor no hablo de la cantidad de escenas innecesarias de noncon.

Normally I’d rate something like this one star, but the author did warn that it was not for all readers, and that it was rooted in the original myth. So, bonus star.

Just because it’s gay doesn’t make a story about rape and abuse okay. There are so many things that could’ve been done and it still could’ve been dark, but, alas. I would head the warning on this one, folks. The writing wasn’t bad but the story is.

And knowing they have a "happy ending" together, I can't continue this book, I just can't.

A friend recommended me this book, so I'm glad I didn't go in blind and was made aware of all the trigger warnings. The beginning did drag a little, although it did pick up after 60% (that's why it took a month for me to finish it). I liked the smut when it finally gets consensual, but also it was a big letdown that the only few consensual sex we got was glossed over, and the descriptive and graphic ones were noncon :(

We deserve a wholesome sapphic spice.

Rapey. Gross.

Pushed through the first instance of lavishly described abuse only to be met with another, nary a chapter later. DNF at about 50% because I really don’t want to hear about them eventually falling in love. Was so excited for this novel because I love me some sapphic kink but this is lazy & unimaginative.

One star for having researched ancient clothing & putting that research into nearly every paragraph. I doff my perizoma to you.
