This book was SO GOOD oh my gosh. It combines female code breakers in WW2, a murder mystery AND a sapphic romance - what more could you want?

I love stories about World War 2, and this one felt really different to most of what I read from this era. Not only is this a murder mystery, but it also focusses on aspects of the war we don’t see fictionalised all that often. Code breakers were SO important and these girls are so badass.

The murder mystery was twisted and thrilling, but I will admit I picked our killer almost right away. There was a moment toward the end where I really did second guess myself, but it turned out I’d been right all along. This isn’t something that makes a book less enjoyable for me, though. I always find it exciting when I can work it out and watch the characters get there too.

The relationships in this book are really its strongest point, in my opinion. Not just the romance between Kit and Moya, but the friendships between all these girls. They just made me so soft. I loved their dynamic, the way they’d do anything for each other. And I did truly love the romance and how it progressed.

A great thriller for anyone looking for one!
