If you’re looking for a book about the world’s most selfish, self-absorbed, hateful, misogynistic shitbag man, this is the one for you.
Edit: Oh man, oh man, oh man. I forgot the thing that pissed me off more than anything the evil protagonist did in this book, which was when a character who has been undergoing surgery and chemo for a massive brain tumour is told by her doctor that he liked her because, “Not once during your treatment did I hear you feeling sorry for yourself.”
EX-FUCKING-SCUSE ME??? A person undergoing horrendous treatment for a terrifying, life threatening illness is likeable because SHE DIDN’T FEEL SORRY FOR HERSELF???? This book can so get fucked. I’m so mad now that I remembered that bit.

What goes on in this authors head to come up with these stories. This book was so twisted, so horrific and so darn good. I'll need a mental health break before reading another of his books! How far would you go for love, or hate? This family went far, really, really far! Wow.

It took some time before I full understood the structure of this book. It kind of flies all over the place, jumping from different time periods and characters. But once I understood, I was hooked and had a difficult time putting it down. Some of the revelations were horrifying and mind boggling. Great read!!
