There is no Superman in this Superman book

Not what I was expecting, I mean why is Superman's name in the title, but mildly entertaining overall. I wasn't really looking to read a Lex Luther series and I did lose some interest part way through, the Death cameo in particular was a little indulgent, but then I really enjoyed the last issue featuring Vandal Savage, which ended in enough of a cliffhanger for me to want to seek out the next book. That's a strength of the DC universe for me is it's history of characters, and the more I see of them in a book the better.

I was here for Death of the Endless. She has an interesting if not great cameo. It would have been nice to have had a “Previously On” summary, since DC continuity has been complicated this century.

A fun tour around DC's super villains with Luthor. Best part of this comic is how right it gets Luthor's 'voice'. It also embraces the inherent ridiculous nature of this sort of thing, which not enough comics do.

Only thing I didn't really like was David Finch's art - he draws like he's never seen a human face - BUT he's only on the covers and Pete Woods' interior art is great.

4 stars just for the part where Lex Luthor has a conversation with Death of the Endless. Girl, we've missed you!

Great exploration of what makes Lex Luthor tick.

Really 3.5 stars, but watching Lex Luthor match (exceed) wits with DC's villains as he pursues the near-extinct black lantern rings is entertaining to a degree DC's heroes generally were not at the time.
