The Last Letter

Rebecca Yarros

4.4 AVERAGE

I loved this book (a 4 or 5 star!) until the last 10%, which I found unnecessary, emotionally manipulative, and pointless.

Emotional damage. This book wretched me. Latterly sobbing ugly cry tears.

This book was the one that made me cry. As someone who doesn’t usually cry — I found myself understanding the feelings of every character in this story.

I have never felt such emotion in a book as I did in this one. I fell in love with all the characters — watching the strength and development of them. As a 2nd grade teacher I really felt this story in my bones — seeing and feeling the ache the main character will go through with her children. As a people pleaser — I understood the pull to do what everyone else wanted.

I absolutely would recommend to anyone. Top tier writing that I have read in a LONG time.
