Lars Kepler har et suverænt sprog og måde at fortælle sin historie på. Selvom der var noget historie med undervejs, så var det ikke noget der gjorde bogen kedelig eller som gjorde den træg at komme videre med. Bogen var en klar page-turner, og man måtte bare læse videre for at finde ud af hvad det var for en stalker, og hvad det næste skridt ville være. Jeg regnede personligt ikke ud hvem morderen var før det nærmest var for sent og hele historien udfoldet. Det har forfatteren gjort godt!

What can I say, I LOVE the Joona Linna series from Lars Kepler. I really need to start at the beginning, but after how The Sandman ended I just had to read Stalker. I do find myself getting overwhelmed with the length, but as I read on I realize that I can’t put it down! The story is gripping and I love the suspense and thrill.

I'm a sucker for Swedish crime thrillers and didn't realise I hadn't reviewed this at the time! My wife actually bought me a copy of this, hence the late review. I remember reading the Hypnotist and feeling I was missing something - not realising Stalker is the 5th book in the series, that makes sense. Stalker is another example of why Swedish crime fiction is so engrossing - thrilling characters, desolate places and nordic noir. Recommended - but remember to read at least The Hypnotist first!

Veldig spennende, men overgikk ikke Sandmannen. Den er den beste til nå. Litt for lang og temmelig uferdig sidehistorie ang. Joona Linna og Jurek, Saga Bauer datt helt ut av historien og føltes som fyll. Plottet var imidlertid spennende, og uventet!

The police receive a short film of a woman in a window, the person filming is obviously stood outside her house! The next day the woman is dead. A few days later another short film is sent to the police. The police know that they need to identify the woman before she falls victim to a brutal attack and death! Criminal psychiatrist Erik Bark is called in to hypnotise a vital witness with short term memory loss to uncover the truth of the crime scene. However, what Erik starts to uncover makes him start lying to the police...
It is clear that this case cannot be solved without the help of Joona Linna, the man who has been missing for a year and is presumed dead.
Thanks to Netgalley for letting me read this story! I awarded Stalker four stars as I found it a long read (139 chapters), and one I had to concentrate on. Stalker is the fifth book in the Joona Linna series which I only found out after reading it, but I still enjoyed it as a standalone. It is easy to read and cleverly written which short chapters and the story does contain parts some viewers may find gory. However, for me personally it was just too long. Finding out about the series it makes sense to read the series in order which is why some parts I did not understand, but reading them in order would have made the story much more clearer for myself. Stalker is gripping and fast paced in parts especially towards the end but I found some parts dragged. This is one of those stories where the outcome makes you shocked and is totally unexpected. Stalker is the perfect book for readers who enjoy a good thriller, crime, mystery, suspense, horror and killed filled story. However, read the series in order and don't make the mistake I made! Enjoy.

This was a bookstagram made me do it. One girl that I follow raved and raved about this book, and now the series. It sat in my Amazon cart for weeks until I finally hit purchase, and I’m glad I did.
This is book #5 in the Joona Linna Series. Although I read this as a standalone, I’m going to go back and start from book #1. There are some references to books prior, but not enough that you get lost.
Oh boy did this book creep me out! You always hear about people stalking others, and there is never a good ending. While I was reading this book, I made sure that when it got dark out all the curtains/blinds were closed. You could say this book made me a little paranoid.
Ok, there are a lot of players in this book! All of them important. I’ll admit I was lost at first trying to keep track of who’s who, but it was easy to catch up.
Joona is one of the main characters who everyone thought was dead, that’s a reference to books prior. I really liked his character which is why I think I would like the other books in the series. Margot is a pregnant no guts no glory detective, easily likable. Erik, the hypnotist, has a very big secret that is making him question his actions in the past. He is now racing against the clock to right his wrong.
If you’re not one for graphic detail, here is a trigger warning. The way these women are murdered is gruesome! The detail on what the Stalker did to their faces is hard to read. You’ll read their thoughts and feelings as they try to get away from the person in the yellow raincoat, and you’ll read about what they are feeling as the knife plunges into their bodies before everything goes dark. Yikes!
There were multiple times I thought I figured out who the Stalker is. I was surprised at the end. Even more surprised to read the reasoning behind the killings.
Drugs, sex, murder….this book has it all. It is a rollercoaster of a ride. The detectives are racing against the clock because they know the Stalker will not quit killing until they are caught.
Which leads to the question is the man Erik help put away years prior the Stalker or is the wrong man in jail?

The husband and wife duo of Lars Kepler is hands down one of my favourite authors, I'm not sure why but their writing style is just amazing!.
This novel is the 5th novel in the "Joona Linna" series, with the main antagonist coming to light finally, the deuteragonist has his own spin off story in the 6th and 7th book after the finale of this one; which is equally a good book.
This novel surrounds an ex-Detective who finally coming out of hiding brings down a notorious new serial killer who after filming their victim sends the videos to the police and kills their victims.
Chasing the untraceable killer is the main story of the plot, however other strange, smaller sub-plots find their way into the spotlight,coming together for the giant climax, (I was unable to guess the main protagonist)
This book filled me with confusion, suspense and a strangely annoyance,
