Brilliantly surreal, queer, and often very funny. Sometimes the poems are so surreal that they are opaque to possible meanings, at least on a first reading.

All the rave reviews on here talked me up from a 2 to a 3, but I really don't see what some people are seeing in this collection. So much of it is hella silly or pointless or just an 8 line jackoff. *shrug*

although this one had some really beautiful lines about the soul, and omg the one about the caterpillar was so earthshattering TO ME!!!!!!!!!!! the rest of this book missed the mark haha, poetry isn't for everyone and this book isn't really for me its a bit too metaphorical. i don't like the tampon and sexual stuff too much and the apparent incest (? missed that part apparently) but poetry collections are always so hit-or-miss, especially ones where the poetry is so metaphorical it's like watching a balloon float away through the sky before you even got a chance to hold the string
