This book was so much better than I thought it would be.

It's a fun and interesting read, and I really love the writing style.

Definitely recommend for anyone who liked the show or the games, or anyone who's into lighthearted adventure fantasy!

The Witcher is like Shrek-adjacent. The show is… kind of awful, and it's so nice to read the stories and see the original inspiration that wasn't in The Wild Hunt. The show deprives its audiences of all the humour and wit of the books - Geralt is funny, he talks a lot - he talks to himself and his horse. He isn't always sour and angry. He's tender for Yen and they have a very singular relationship.

What to even say. I hate reviewing books. AAAAHHHH

Too many men. Give me more women. And not from men's POVs.

A great intro the the Witcher series. Geralt on paper is such a charming and complex character to read about. The introspection provided in this book really sets the stage for how his flaws might affect him over time.
