Secret relationships are apparently my jam, cause I loved this. The warring lawmakers, sleazy senators, and clandestine romance was Captivating from start to finish. This one is hot and spicy, but also very emotional. Issa's momma made me want to spit nails, but Kareem came through and shut that mess down. I thought this was going to fall into the easy miscommunication potholes that popped up, but the 3rd act conflict was well crafted. I will absolutely be picking up more from this author.

*There are depictions of mental illness that may not be accurately portrayed.*

I really enjoyed this political/workplace/enemies to lovers by Gia De Cadenet! Our MC’s are stafffers of political rivals!! 😱 The duel POV was fun and kind of seems to not be as common in contemporary romance these days so that was refreshing! I really appreciated Gia’s ability to write about serious issues (lots of mental health issues!)  while also having great steamy scenes mixed in! Overall I enjoyed and would recommend!

Thank you to Random House Publishing for the advanced copy!

CW: sexual abuse, blackmail, mental illness, emotionally abusive parter and parent

This book is a political romance where the main couple meets on a plane flight, hit it off and go their separate ways only to run into each other at work. They work for adversary politicians.

I did enjoy the political conversations, the support and build of the relationship.

Where I struggled with this book:

- Borderline personality disorder is often seen as one of the “bad” mental illnesses and it feels off to continue to use tropes making people that suffer from mental illness as The villains of the stories.

-it was a little cheesy at times and I personally struggle with cheesy
