Not what I expected

I think the way the synopsis is written through me off as it makes Jayden seem almost like a con man "being whatever I needed". Which isn't the case in either aspect. It didn't feel like a mature relationship. I just didn't enjoy it.

Moving right along on my list that I have compiled for this year, I can’t even believe I have made it this far. With that being said, I dug this gem up. It wasn’t a very long read and I am definitely glad I had purchased this forever ago.

I felt like this was a very well written story. Everything flowed together and made for a very quick read for me. I really hope people don’t let my three star rating detour them from this book because I very much enjoyed it. The addition of the ADHD in this story is what makes this book so special and so unique. It makes it angsty, gut-wrenching, and emotional all at once.

“This is forever,” he whispered. “No matter how bad we beat the shit out of it. You and me, we are always.”

The characters were all great characters but I feel like the author really did a truly satisfying job with Jayden. He overcame a lot in this book and to me can’t be faulted for most of his actions and all of that is thanks to way the author wrote him. He was an all-around perfectly flawed character (and those are my favorite). He was temperamental, hard-working, loving. He was just great. Hillary kind of just rubbed be the wrong way with all of her ignorance. I felt like she was very immature for her age. I understand that this book wasn’t about her though, so it was all easy to push aside.

This book was hot. Not a cheesy kind of hot either. I thought it was the perfect amount of sexiness and wow-factor. I was reading through some other reviews that said that it focused too much on their sex life but I didn’t feel like it did. Especially since the connection between the two was electrifying.

What made this a three star? INSTA-LOVE. You probably guessed that already. I understand that the author might have been rushed with their relationship so that she could build the story up but it was just too soon. Too soon. The truth of all this is, if this story didn’t include the ADHD it would be just like any other contemporary romance we have read.
All in all, good read for me. I definitely don’t feel like any of my time was wasted with this one. If you are looking for something that is easy and angsty, look this book up. You won’t regret it!

Living and loving ADHD

This is an insightful piece on the work that goes into a relationship and marriage, but with the added complication of ADHD.

Jayden and Hilary meet and their chemistry is intense. She's been burned before and had sworn off men., while Jayden's previous relationships end really before they get started. He has ADHD and some of his symptoms are too much for past girlfriends to take. But, Hilary is different and Jayden is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure their relationship lasts. He is a sweet man. It is hard watching him suffer.

I know there are levels in severity of ADHD and that everyone presents differently, but this example was insightful in showing how hard it can be both in living with the disorder and also in loving someone with it.

If anything, this book champions love and the importance of fighting for your partner and relationship through the rough times (if you want to make it work) and that needing help (therapy) is ok and sometimes a necessity. Kate Stewart writes some great arguments and I felt the resentment and pettiness as though it were my own.

A great book, and it didn't make me cry, so I'm considering that a win! Loved it!

Such a beautiful and eye opener story of a reality that many people struggle with everyday. Plus a beautiful love story and how they cope with their relationship as it evolve with the reality of ADHD.

I laughed, I cry, I swoon and I learn.
Loved it!!!

Kate’s story’s always have something real in them! I loved this one. It touched on a real life subject I had little knowledge of. Makes me look at things differently in a good way. Great love story and hot too! I highly recommend!

You know it's bad when you only look forward to the couple's fighting scenes

Took me a while to decide how to rate this one...

I am a big Kate Stewart fan (think I've mentioned this a time or two before). She has such a way of making her characters come to life. This one was no different. I fell for Jayden just as Hilary did. I loved watching their relationship bud and his romantic ways. I laughed out loud several times. I even loved his dark days because he was so real. He wasn't a typical HEA hero who is perfect.
The downfall for me was around 70%.
When she starts to withdraw from Jayden shortly after they are married. She was all I'll never leave you and I will love you no matter how much you push me away. I get it. Marriage is tough. But she really started to upset me at that point. Then there was the whole visit with Jayden's Psychiatrist. She should have done more research herself (and well before she married him) than running to his Dr to get answers - which read more like a textbook at that point in the novel and I started to skim ahead.
So 70% of the book I loved the other 30% was eh... but overall 4 stars because the characters were still so real and beautifully flawed and I fell in love with their story regardless.
