This is an exceptional book. I just couldn't put it down. I could hardly believe the sins that were perpetrated on women in the name of God. The men in this book deserve to burn in hell.

The best book I've read so far on the FLDS.

Audiobook reviewed for Library Journal.

Wow! Read this book.

A fascinating, intense and disturbing memoir of a woman who left the FLDS and helped bring Warren Jeffs and his cronies to justice.

Now, I take these kinds of first-person narrations with a grain of salt because, when it comes to relying on your own personal memories, things are going to be skewed, that's just the nature of memory. But if even half of this is true, these women had one horrible life, with no options or hope for relief. It was certainly an eye-opener for me. An extremely fascinating read.

This book is absolutely heartbreaking, and the abuse that Rebecca and the other women whose stories are told here is very difficult to read. The absolute brainwashing is extremely difficult to read as well but I think it's important to understand how this continues to happen in our society, as even today there are people experiencing these human rights violations in the U.S.

I think it's very brave that Rebecca escaped, told her story and continued to do so, bearing witness on the stand time and time again to help hold men accountable for abusing countless women and children.

This book isn't perfect from a writing standpoint with a few places where the timeline got a little confusing but overall it hits the mark for what I look for in a memoir.
