Meh. The first two thirds were lengthy. Interesting concept but spent way too much time in Levi's head. The final third really amped the plot up.

The dark romance continues in this volume as Stella serves herself up on a platter. It's dramatic and sexy, but plot developments almost come out of nowhere.

Still quite weird, but I shall move on to the next volume anyways.

TW: drugging without consent (or at least knowing the full ramifications), violence, death, assault

Not exactly my favorite series I've ever read, but I'm mainly reading it to see the progression between Stella and Levi's relationship.

1 volume: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
2 volume: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3 volume: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
4 volume: not yet

I write this review for all the volumes to save some time.
No spoilers just my reading experience.

1 volume: I was intrigued by the story and the characters looked nice and were interesting to me. The drawing style is absolutely gorgeous. The cover looked nice but I disliked the format the manga was in.

2 volume: The story became more confusing to follow because there is so much going on with the panels, the background AND characters were drawn too detailed to keep apart properly. The speech bubbles having ornaments here and there made it even worse. I gave it 5 stars first, then decided it would be unfair because I complained too much while reading.

3 volume: It was still confusing but now I dislike almost all the characters and I would be happy if it would be over after volume 4.

4 volume:

I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review.

The plot thickens in this volume. A lot is going on, with Levi and Stella getting together, sort of. Stella has to confront Levi's past in this volume, which she readily accepts because she says she loves him. Well, in this volume, it turns out that Friedrich has other plans. He wants to make Stella his bride just to mess with Levi. So this whole volume is basically to show that Stella is being used in their eternal game, at least Friedrich's game. Also, it appears he is not the only one involved.

So far, my only complaint is Stella seems a bit 2 dimensional as a character. There is no focus on her past at all other than short little snippets of what she mentions. It's almost like she's lost her memory while the other beings are trying to consume hers? I'm not really sure. I wish we knew more about the main character Stella. My hope is the next few volumes delve a bit more into that.

I want to see where this story goes. I feel like it could be really interesting depending on the next volume or two. Definitely deserves a place on your "to read" list if you like books with different types of vampire-esque lore.
