Bad Girls Never Say Die is a beautiful tale of female friendship being enough. Marketed as a gender-bent version of The Outsiders, Bad Girls Never Say Die delivers on the class warfare and greaser vibes of its inspiration.

Tʜᴇ Gɪʀʟs Aʀᴇ Iᴄᴏɴɪᴄ

This story starts off about a girl who has insecurities like any normal fifteen-year-old. How can she fit in? How can she be friends with the bad girls? What does she have to; do, act, speak, look like, and be like to achieve that? Nothing a little chole eyeliner won't fix. Meet Evie. A sort of girl that mothers warn their daughters about. My sort of girl.

Right off the bat Evie let's you know that she isn't the most outspoken person. She also isn't one to trust her womanly intuition. Women's intuition is something that is really important to me, so the fact that it was mentioned in the book is great and I really like the way that it was portrayed in this book. Like many girls and women all over the world when we are told to ignore the one thing that protects us, but benefits others, it is something amazing to pay attention to.

I love the cover of the book. It really matches the mood and the girls.

Loved it!!

Loved the atmosphere and era this one is set in. Brings up the vibe of the ride or die friends - or maybe it’s ride or murder? Either way - bad girls or not, I know who my friends would be.

When I heard this book was a gendered flipped reimagining if The Outsiders, I bought it automatically . Loved Moxie by this author and had high hopes for this book.

While this book has some similar to The Outsiders it has its own story and takes a different route since it’s females who take center stage. I really enjoyed reading the friendship bond between the girls in the story. I wish more girls took this route with their friends instead of shaming them because they don’t fall into society’s idea of what a girl should be.

This was such an amazing story! I got sucked in right away and ended up finishing the whole book in one day. Evie was a great protagonist, and I felt like I was torn in wanting her to straighten up and keep to her independent ways. Diane was also very dynamic and by the end I was so invested in her story. I loved the 1960's Houston setting, and the author did a great job setting the scene. I would recommend this to anyone, but especially Outsiders fans!

The instant I saw this was a gender-bent The Outsiders, I was completely sold.  I love The Outsiders a lot and while I didn't love this one as much, I did really enjoy reading it.  There was a really interesting story line, and I liked the way it took elements of The Outsiders and changed it so it wasn't an exact retelling but more of a reimagining.  I liked the characters and the circumstances they got themselves into felt realistic.  It was fairly well written and I was really engaged in the story.
