One of the most empathetic and up to date coverages of the current genetic debates. It is interesting and easy to follow for even non-experts. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite recent reads. The author combines a progressive politics with her scientific pursuits, and explains such things as how ancient DNA is extracted, how ancient remains are obtained for science, and the latest information on the peopling of the Americas.

The first parts could’ve used maps and background information on specific sites listed. The latter parts of the book were more engaging and contained maps (though really small ones).
