Perfect celebrity memoir. Told enough stories to give you an insider look, but also showed the “real” person - who does seem so real. Reading the book makes you love the author even more.

📖 S Y N O P S I S
Live Wire is a collection of honest stories from daytime talk show host Kelly Ripa. She dives into bits and pieces of her professional and personal lives giving the reader a glimpse of life on set, as well as stories about her marriage, her children, and life as a celebrity.
💭 T H O U G H T S
I mainly know who Kelly Ripa is from her time on All My Children (a show my mother used to watch), and occasionally watched Live! back in my college days, so I was interested to see what her book Live Wire would be like.
As the title suggests, these stories are snippets of her life (in no particular order). The writing style is definitely more like a stream of consciousness than anything else, which is why I'd recommend the audio route as she narrates it herself. There is very little depth to this memoir, and I found it a little too obvious that she was trying to be funny. She completely omits huge portions of her professional life. Additionally, she tries to make herself relatable to the average reader, and doesn't do a very good job of it.
At the end of the day, it's worth a listen on audio while cleaning or driving, but don't go in expecting something earth shattering. I wanted more about her time on All My Children and unfortunately there's very little.
