Cheesy, quick read. Fun especially if you are fan of Aladdin. I will always like a story that gives Jasmine a stronger voice.
SpoilerI found the creation of the kingdom of Ababwa and all it's inhabitants a little awkward and was uncomfortable with Jasmine loving all these characters that were not real and never finding out the truth.
Still a cute enough story for a quick, fluffy read.

I really enjoyed the novel. It's a creative story that allows you to see Jasmine and Aladdin interacting with each other more. You also get to know them better as individuals and understand their Hope's. It has some good twists and an interesting villain.

It's a middle grade novel, so it would really appeal to younger readers. Older readers who love Aladdin (like me) will enjoy it as well.

I never thought what Ababwa would have been like, and it was really cool to see it come to life. The conflict and ending didn't really work for me, but it didn't really ruin the rest of the story for me.

Overall, it was just cool to see what Ababwa could have been like, and it helps develop the relationship between Aladdin and Jasmine. Also, it does end up showing how much a leader Jasmine can be.

Thank you to Scholastic Aus for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a beautiful book! I grew up absolutely loving Aladdin and so this book did not disappoint! I thought the world building was fantastic and I really enjoyed the alternate point of view’s from Aladdin and Jasmine. Whilst this is a middle grade book, it was still enjoyable while being a light and fun read. If you’re a Disney fan, I highly recommend Aladdin: Far From Agrabah

A fun middle grade story, definitely geared toward someone already familiar with Disney's Aladdin, as it takes place during the magic carpet ride. Fast paced with plenty of action, brings back good memories!

3.5 stars, rounded up.

This is basically a tale of Aladdin and Jasmine’s date on the magic carpet during the singing of “A Whole New World.” I’ve always loved that part of the movie, and it was nice to see it expanded upon in book form. There was more dimension to Jasmine and I really liked that she wanted to be a good leader to the people of Agrabah. Aladdin really milked that first wish of being a prince - even getting the Genie to create the fictitious city of Ababwa! Lengthening their date made the romance more believable. It was cute and I liked it. I really want to rewatch the cartoon now!

At the beginning I thought I would be bored rereading a story I already knew. As I kept reading I realized that this story filled in some gaps from the story we all know and love. What else happened on that magic carpet ride? This story took that moment and created a unique story around it!
