A group of stories about an ex, or soon to be ex. Most people think of an Ex boyfriend or husband when looking at the title of this book, but that's not all these stories were about. Some of them was about a soon to be ex friend or even parent. I liked most of the stories, but my favorites were Pursure, conquer, destroy, Too old to marry, That's the way love goes, fool me once, and online secrets. It would be nice if some of these and some others could be turned into full length stories.

I absolutely love this collection of short stories! As I moved through perplexity in 'That's the Way Love Goes' by Adrienne Thompson to the feelings of heroic love in 'Never Too Late' by Cheryl Cloud Robbins, I was fully engaged as I was shocked by betrayal in 'Shame' by Penelope Christian but moved by the statement of "Break up with your ex-self" then in emotional tears in 'Losing Lily' by Jeida K. Storey. And let's not forget me rooting hard for Tiffany in 'Online Secrets' by Venita Alderman Sadler. I learned to never give up my dreams to support a man because in 20 to 30 years, I would regret that sacrifice. I also learned that sex confirms that you don't need to be together (lol) and that you should make moves in quiet because someone is always trying to steal your talent. The revelation of family secrets just confirmed how much people are still just people outside of their familial tie and that blood isn't always thicker than water. And I'm so glad that my stance against male/female "friendship" still remains as a reminder that some people have a different definition of what friends are. This collection of short stories took me on a wild and crazy ride but I enjoyed every minute of it. Congrats to all the authors for sharing their stories!

I was not expecting to enjoy these shorts as much as I did. I’m not finished reading just yet, but I can already say that this collection deserves five stars and the authors should be very proud of themselves. My favorite so far is Tangled Webs by Elle Jaye and I really hope it gets turned into a full novel.
