Very well written. Is possibly now one of my favorite non-fiction books. It is stories like these that make me appreciate all that our service men and women have endured while fighting our wars (even if we don't agree with the war or our own actions). It is worth reading at least once.

I cant believe I never wrote a review of unbroken. It was one of the best autobiographies that I have ever come across. It starts out a little bit slow, but boy once it gets going, you can not put it down. It was also very hard to read. It was very brutal. This was a side of WW2 that I had never heard before. And it stuck with me. The abuse that the POW went through is truly barbaric. And really broke my heart. But it is a good story of overcoming the past and forgiveness. Read this book. But do not watch the movie. It was terrible.

This book was absolutely fascinating. I am in awe of Louis and his fellow POWs.

Really amazing story about Louis Zamperini ... amazing tale of survival during WWII. The end was a bit rushed, perhaps because the author clearly dwelt on the incredible fortitude Zaperini demonstrated surviving over 40 days at sea, then in Japanese internment camps. Well worth reading, written in a straight-forward and painstakingly researched format.

Wow, what a riveting non-fiction account of "survival, resilience, and redemption." I read "Seabiscuit" by Hillenbrand back when I did not read non-fiction if I could help it and I remembered enjoying it, so I wanted to read "Unbroken," but I didn't have the motivation until now.

I've never been particularly interested in WWII and knew very little about the war in the Pacific. Hillenbrand has once again introduced me to a topic I thought I had no interest in and told me an amazing story. Her writing style is engaging and moves at a pace that is intensely readable.

So I've owned this book for 2 or 3 years now and just never read it. I finally did and WOW. Incredible. Incredibly story and incredibly told.
