quick general CWs before i recommend: tons of body horror, eye trauma, child death and endangerment, a quarantine situation, forced medical procedures. good book. had some annihilation vibes to me? but more focused on the relationships of the trio of main characters. pacing pulled me up short a couple times - i think the book could have been longer and it could've taken longer for the main relationship to kinda come together, but i also read it in a pretty short space of time so YMMV!
i wish the book was 100 or so pages longer but everything else about this book i LOVED!
body horror, lesbians, being tense after each page. i loved this book so much

I had to review just because this is so disappointing. Amazing premise that ultimately goes nowhere. Lazy worldbuilding and too many questions left unanswered, but not in a good way, just in a way that makes it seem like the author genuinely didn’t know how to answer them. Great beginning followed by disappointment and a foolish hope that it’ll go somewhere. Spoiler: it doesn’t.
Wow. That was an intriguing book. Part Outbreak, part Lord of the Flies, with a Girl with all the Gifts mystery thrown in to boot. You really feel for the girls and the screwed up situation they find themselves in.

The ending was questionably hopeful, but I was a little disappointed that after all Hetty did to keep the other girls alive, she left them behind in a crisis situation to still try and rescue Byatt..

I liked the overall vibe and moodiness, but the ending felt a little abrupt, and not quite everything got addressed.
I received this book at YallFest 2018. Wilder Girls has a unique style to it. I enjoyed the pacing and atmosphere it has. The characters are likable and make you care just enough to keep reading to find out what happens to them. I honestly looked forward to picking it up and reading more every time I could. I’m still not sure I understand what happened at the end though. It felt like there was more to tell and that the plot needed more story to help me understand what happened. However, that being said I really liked it and would definitely read another book by this author.

Good, but the middle third was a little slow
Among my favorite books of all time. I LOVE it. Erie & freaky vibes but not scary, good love story, good story in general. My only problem is Byatt. Not a fan of her whole thing.
