A very weird book but I laughed and was intrigued. Nothing deep about it nor were there any lessons learned from it but it was a light and fun read.

This book is pure literary popcorn, but I really enjoyed the humour behind the unreliable narrator and his complete obliviousness to how others see him.

The concept and tone of The Serial Killers Club would have made a far better Garth Ennis comic than it does a novel. Certainly you get the feeling that the author doesn’t quite have the skill or the depravity to do the story justice.

It’s not a new premise either, the Dexter series of books got their first. Although The SerialKillers club is a lot more cartoony in nature.

Never-the-less the book rattles along fairly easily without causing too much offence. Not exactly the most memorable book in the world, but good enough to while away a couple of idle hours on the train.

Reading to the end of this book was painful, but I did it in hopes that it would be as incredibly predictable as it was. If the book was meant to be a satire it failed miserably. I am a creature of vast views of humor and there was none to be found in this book. Clearly it was meant to be taken somewhat seriously and it failed there as well. There's nothing thrilling about it and the author clearly knew nothing about serial killers. No psychology in this fiction at all. The characters were lacking in any depth. If I could give this negative stars I would.

Interesting and captivating story. I like that the concept and design are different than other murder stories. I did found it a bit predictable, but otherwise it is a good book.

Een goed en spannend boek, waarbij je elke keer verrast wordt door de wendingen. Fijne schrijfstijl en interessante karakters.

A good and exciting book, in which you get surprised every time by the twists. Nice writing style and interesting characters.

I didn't go into this novel thinking that I would enjoy it nearly as much as I did. The novel is quirky and draws you in until you're not sure what to think about any one at all. It is vague enough to keep you guessing and pondering certain aspects of the main character's life/way of thinking, but it is not so vague that it makes the novel difficult to read.

This book although predictable and a tad ridiculous- entertained me in that dry, sarcastic, dark-humor sort of way.  Didn’t hate it.

is there a word like anachronistic that means location? like anageostic? this book was that for me. clearly the writer was British but the location was america. weird to think of high street in Chicago. it distracted me.

This was a predecessor to Dexter, in many ways. I loved the idea and having never read Jeff Lindsey (Lindsay? Linsey?) I really enjoyed the story. storytelling was good and entertaining. darkly funny which I always appreciate (how Dougie thinks he's such a ladykiller...). The ending was okay but seemed to be in a battle with itself to one up itself. but wait! there's more! ha HA charade you are...!

Overall, I'd read more of this writer but it was hard to take this work as an original after the Dexter franchise came to fruition and I found the authors' Britishisms distracting in the context of an American set novel. solid three stars.
