I wanted to like this book but it was so disjointed and nonsensical. The ending was utterly ridiculous.

I enjoyed this book a lot but at the same time I felt a little disappointed by the ending. The novel is about a teen girl named Kenzie whose life changes dramatically when her name is put on The Hotties List. Soon the girls on the list start to die one by one and Kenzie must find out what's the cause of it before she's next.
I predicted the killer as soon as he was introduced and I wasn't very surprised by the plot twist. The mystery and the romance in the book wasn't bad but the major plot twist in the book suck! I hated the whole assassin society plot and I knew it that Josh's family was shady. I was very disappointed with the ending because it made it seem like Kenzie and her friends are going to be like secret spies trying to stop the whole assassin society. WTH....
Despite that, this book was really well written and interesting to read. I wonder if there will be a sequel.

Ah! I really don't know how I feel about this book. I loved it for some reasons but, even though I hate to admit it, I disliked it for more.

Before you get bored, we'll start off with what I loved. Which is mainly the Latin. In every aspect. I like the fact the main character was actually intelligent, like not just 'oh she can do stuff' but like 'shit I wish I could do that'. Because I wish I knew Latin like she knew Latin. And I like that abnormality in the storyline too, I mean, it kind of amazed me to see Latin in a YA book that was blended in so well.

And that brings me to the tale itself. I digged it. Almost more than digged it. It's got such a weird twist that I definitely not expecting when I started the book. I did guess where it was heading around the middle but I really, really did enjoy the ride there.

HOWEVER. There were things I found myself rolling my eyes at and others inwardly cringing at. Like at one point she was going on about how she wished that life could be more like Latin? It was just a cringy thing to say and made it look like St. Claire was just trying to hard to get a good ol' Tumblr quote line attached to her name.

And another thing, what was up with the ending? It rushed past me in a blur and then plateaued where everyone was friends and suddenly becomes a
Spoilera spy at the end
? It just feels a bit childish and Disney.

But anyway, I got some nice Latin quotes to make me look pretentious on Instagram so I'm happy.

You have suspend disbelief while reading this and that is actually the least of my problems with this book. The main character, Kenzie, is a smart, driven, good girl. She makes stupid decision after decision and is so passive that she spends the majority of this book going places and doing the things everyone tells her to do. She does redeem herself at the end by kicking some ass. Her best friend Molly is terrible, obessed with popularity and whining throughout the whole thing. The love interest Levi is a bad boy but a real bad boy, he went to juvie, y'all. Ugh.

However, is a super fast read that I could not put down.

Like not love. I don't have anything GUSHING to say, but it wasn't bad either, if that makes sense? It was a fast read and definitely intriguing, but also wasn't the kind of book that I started telling my friends to read halfway through it.

I truly think this book sounded better when I originally got it. With that being said, I didn't enjoy this book.

If you've read "Good Girl's Guide To Murder", you'd know the plot of high school students trying to solve murders, I'm going to also mention it has the same vibes as "One Of Us Is Lying".

As the reader, we follow Kenzie (full name MacKenzie) as she experiences a stalker after she's been put on the hot girl list. The thing is, people above her on the list are dropping left and right. There's a touch of unneeded romance.
