This series just keeps getting better and better!

After a month and a half break I’m back to finish up Amulet.

Book 6 was great! Where book 5 was a bit slow and more backstory (which I can really love) this book was a frenetic pace. It was following multiple different storylines throughout the whole book (most of which end on cliffhangers)

Excited to see the end (or at the end so far, looks like a book 9 is supposed to come out sometime this year)

The art is very lovely, especially the full page art.

Continuing the story and moving the plot forward - a necessary part of the series, with some new secrets revealed.

Rating 5

I've read this less than 30-minutes. I like this book because the concept of time-traveling-in-a-dream is done here. Can't wait for the seventh book... And hoping the characters would meet in a crossroad once again (Emily and company, her brother and co. and her mother and co.)

Good but found this one a little confusing as to what was happening, why and where

**This review was based on an electronic ARC provided by netgalley in exchange for an honest review.**

Unfortunately, this was my least favourite volume in the series.

My Thoughts:

1. I feel like the story line is beginning to lose its momentum and excitement. I found some parts of the plot to be quite draggy and repetitious. Not the mention, the plot twists are becoming too predictable.

2. I'm also starting to lose sight of what the characters are suppose to be fighting against. The "villian" in this series is constantly changing which only adds more confusion for readers.

3. The visuals in this series are the main reason why I keep reading. The illustrations and colouring are the best I've ever seen!

4. I only wish they put as much effort as they do for the illustrations into plot and character development.

Navin's storyline seems to fall apart more with every volume unfortunately. Still following for the main thread of the story. Artwork continues to be great as usual.

It does feel like we are now building up to a final showdown - the real enemy has been revealed and we see a little more of the history of the world. There was a brief bit at the start that grated on me where a character in the equivalent of school broke the rules and showed disrespect (towards their friend as well as the teacher) but it felt like the narrative was trying to make us side with them in thinking punishment was unfair - I do hate arrogant 'chosen one' style characters reminding me of the cowboy cop trope. But this part was short and overall this issue was fun and consistent with the wider series.
