In a post-apocalyptic New York, nearly 200 years after nuclear war tore open the veil between worlds, humanity is struggling to survive. Magic now flows through humanity but it’s a bit temperamental. Ryder, a witch, can see the future but his magic is weak. Summoned to his Grandmother’s house he has to cross the woods, but the Master of the Hunt doesn’t grant passage easily…
A retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, where the wolf may look all big and bad, but really he’s a bit of a cinnamon roll (but only to Ryder) (and at no point in the book is the phrase “what a big cock you’ve got!” uttered

It’s a little strange to be recommending MM monster erotica to my followers but here we are!
📔 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼: Hunt the Wood by Anna Fury and Amy Pennza, the first book in a series of standalone fairytale retelling.
📚𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Erotica, monster romance, fated mates.
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Ryder is summoned to visit his evil grandmother’s coven. To do so he must travel across the Wood, which requires permission from Wotan, the master of the mysterious hunt.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I’m going to make this super short and sweet. It was absolutely great for what it was. Shortish, super smutty, and adorably romantic through and through. Both Ryder and Wotan had great POVs and the pacing was quick. On top of that, you have the added nuance of it being a Little Red Riding Hood retelling, which is more fun as you go. If you loved Creature Cafe, you’re going to love this too.
🔮 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲: Easy.5 — the world building isn’t terribly complex and the authors do a great job of keeping the info dump short and exposing the need-to-knows.
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4/5 🌶🌶🌶🌶

The whole pacing of this book was rushed and sloppy and the ending was ultimately anti-climactic as all hell. Smut throughout was good but I honestly cannot believe even for a second that the two MCs actually fell in love
I wanted it to be darker but I did love how Wotan at the end
May pick this on back up. Not in the mood at this time

A dark, MM romance reframing of Red Riding Hood. Ryder is the grandson of a power witch, but has little power of his own. He is a "Cassandra" as he can see into someone's future, but that's about it. Ryder's parents (a witch mother and a human father) died in a car accident when he was a child and his grandmother did very little to help him. But when she calls for him he comes in a vain attempt to get some sort of love from her. Lurking in the shadows is Wotan, the Master of the Hunt. He's basically a mafia lord born to run down anyone who enters the woods without his permission, and that includes Ryder. Wotan is known to be cruel and a torturer, but there's something different that arises when he gets ahold of Ryder.
I'll admit that dark romances are not usually my jam. I don't like to read about the characters being mean to each other (I'm too soft hearted). But I did enjoy this book. When they finally get to the loving parts it was a nice pay off. I would say take caution if you're not comfortable with the rougher parts of a dark romance. But if you are good with that, I think you'll like it.
