Definitely not the ending I was expecting! But, I thoroughly enjoyed this spin on the Tale of the Headless Hoseman! It was creative and kept me on my toes.

I do have to add though, Brom and Katrina?! I loved them. The little peek we got into their backstory made me swoon.

Another Christina Henry book. An interesting take on a classic character. It went in a different way than I thought and it had some interesting horror elements. Not my favourite read, but still good.

I wanted to like it, I really did. I wish editors would do their jobs and cut out some of the repetition. The book would be 20 pages shorter if you cut out how many times Ben says he loves Brom alone. There are several concepts here I like, but Ms. Henry needs to work with a better editor. She has the imagination, just needs some help with the writing.

I liked this book and thought the character and story developments were very strong. I was disappointed, however, with the unsatisfying ending. I felt it was a bit of a cop out. I'm not sure if I would recommend because the ending was bothersome.

It took me a bit to get into the story, but once it hooked me the pages kept turning and I wanted to find out who had killed the boy in the woods and what mystery revolved about the Horseman.
With this book, Henry cleverly weaves in the story of Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman, while giving the tale her own spin that makes for a very satisfying end in my opinion.
