Thank you to the author for this gifted ARC.
First, I have to say that I am a huge fan of fantasy romance, but I don't read a lot of time travel-related books, save for Outlander, of course. So, I wasn't expecting this book to be so unbelievably fantastic! Once I started it, I just couldn't put it down. I found Olivia to be so relatable, even when she was irritatingly stubborn.
It begins in Olivia's young years when she is about 10 years old and witnesses her mother's murder in front of her family's antique shop. A significant event that she never gets past. Then, fast forward 14 years, she has been training to fight and in self-defense. And one day, her father springs the info on her that she was born under a special event that allows her to time travel/she is a Timeborn. While she takes off to let this sink in, her five-year boyfriend shows up with a gun and holds Daddy hostage. When she comes back, she learns of the boyftiend’s betrayal and his request for the dagger that appeared at her birth. She ends up cut by the dagger, a scripture is stated, and off into the past she goes.
She wakes up in the year 207 AD, and what a shock it is! She is captured by some soldiers who are not familiar with women who fight, and they present her to the Emperor, who gives her to one of his guards. She has to navigate this new world and build new relationships with people who live very differently than she is accustomed to. And it is quite the adventure!
This book was well-written and so very hard to put down. I am so excited to start the next book in this promising series by this very talented author!

It is rare that I don’t finish a book but I DNF’d this on 15%.. Instagram has really steered me wrong on this one.
The premise sounds promising but the writing is just so boring!
From the first chapter I had a feeling I won’t manage to finish this book but I tried to persevere! Did not succeed.
Can’t even give this a rating because of it

This book was fast paced and pretty easy to follow. One of the worst parts was that it was set in Rome and the male lead’s name was Roman. It wasn’t the best written book I’ve ever read, but entertaining nonetheless.
Poorly written....noting it so I don't come back to it in the future by accident. d
Immediately could tell I was not going to vibe with the writing style and thought I’d be able to push through if the plot was going to be good. But it because evident really quickly it wasn’t going to work for me
Timeborne, is a delicious Romantasy. Focusing on Oliva, a women who faces great trauma and even greater secrets all at once. Just so we may begin her journey into this novel.
Oliva we know from the beginning is in her twenties. As well as kept in the dark to a lot of things that begin to come to light and force her to deal with head on. At times I’m frustrated with the book on how she dealt with it. But with time to consider it… I probably would have been the exact same way at her age, so I give her the benefit of the doubt.
I had moments where I got stuck and my attention did not want to stay with the book. But, It is a good novel! I do look forward for the next instalment as the ending was a nail bitter to say the least.
There were moments the book had me completely invested craving more. Then other that gave me the ick, or left shouting at the character, auditable loud. But overall, it got a reaction. Which good reaction or bad reaction, you know a book is created well if it can do just that. And I can say, this one can.
