This book definitely makes me look at the Eve story differently. Giving me a new perspective on things just renews my spirit. Sarah Jakes Roberts always speaks a word, okay?! Wish I would’ve read this sooner. 5 stars for me.

I've never really thought about Eve's story, even though everything starts with Eve.  In Woman Evolve, we look at how Eve evolved after  being kicked out of the Garden of Eden.  Her story doesn't end there and neither does ours when we go through things in life.  Woman Evolve shows you how God can redeem you from past mistakes and trauma and  use you as a light in the darkness for others to see.

This book takes you on a journey to uncover wounds to become the woman God has called you to be.  I enjoyed the journal entries and all of the nuggets Sarah Jakes Roberts delivers.  If you want to evolve from where you are into the woman you are meant to be, I would recommend reading this book.

I was tremendously eager to read this book and to love it.

Have I read it? Yes, but skipped last 3 chapters

Did I love it? No.

I felt troubled by multiple things. Mainly how disjointed the book felt, which could be stemming from the fact that Sarah tried ever so hard to insert biblical references. I did find myself at times wondering what the chapter is actually about!

And I could not understand why she inserted the bits about COVID. It wasn’t like the book’s had already felt so diffused with trying hard to establish connections to “her interpretation” of Eve’s story, along with being to illusive in writing trying to accommodate both a biblical and a relatable essence ( which I don’t think they contradict each other, But how she did it, I just don’t like).

The book has good nuggets among many pages of what felt like a sermon.

It was far from what I expected and not in a good way. Disappointed ..
