I have heard many people make comments about how the second era is better then the original Mistborn trilogy. I personally just don’t see it. I will say the era and time itself wasn’t my favorite but I didn’t let that get in the way of how I looked at the story and rated. I was never bored reading any of the three books because I know Brandon is always hiding things and connecting them to others so I was always on the lookout. I do think all three books could have been one larger book and it would have felt more like a rounded story. I am excited to see the fourth one come out because I’m very curious as to where he takes it from here. I was definitely more fond of it when we had references to things we knew about from the OG trilogy.

Out of the second era I think this book has to be my favorite. I wasn’t sure where he was gonna take it but I was very intrigued. I had never considered many of the new things that were introduced in this book particularly so he really got me there.

WOW WOW WOW!!!! Before this book I was enjoying the series but it wasn't as good for me as Era 1 or Elantris, but this book is incredible! It really rounds out the series better. It improves the pacing and some of my other issues I had in the first two books.

I think one of the greatest assets is allowing Steris time to shine. She really was my main highlight of this book. Not only is she incredibly bright, which is a great asset to this team, but she also is just a gem. She makes me smile everytime she's on page, and most impressively, actually made me begin to like Wax.

I think the dive and immersion into the other realms really helped drive this book to a better place. I'm excited (and terrified) to see where it goes from here.
