But what have I done? I thought. I didn't ask for this, I didn't give in. Even when Magnus told me I was dying, I fought him, and yet I am hearing Hell's bells now.
Loved to read more about Lestat background, given the fact that he didn't say much about it in the first book. And also the reason behind some attitudes that he has in it.
Also rockstar Lestat rocks can't wait to see how they do it in the Tv series.

As with the first, I continue to be thrilled by finding parallels to other vampire stories. There is something so rewarding about being able to analyze a book with an understanding of what inspired it and how it inspired later texts.
The quest for truth and meaning, answers to unanswerable questions of philosophy, spirituality, and morality, is at the heart of this book (and I predict the series as a whole). I am always interested in stories about the nature of humanity, the meaning or meaninglessness of existence, learning to cope with uncertainty, and finding happiness in harsh realities.
The one thing I am nervous about before going into the third book is the ending of this one. I am not particularly interested in rock stars or vampire wars, so I don't know how much I will enjoy the next arc. Until proven otherwise, though, I will try to hope for the best with the knowledge that this author has exceeded my expectations once already.
Moderate: Blood and Death

This book includes a "story within a story" at some points- something to keep in mind if you are interested in that type of narration.
I question the validity of Ancient Egyptian mythology in this book. From my education, Osiris was slain by his brother Seth. And the people of Ancient Egypt were not "sun burnt" nor tan; they were Black.
The narration is mainly my source of inspiration when it comes to writing. It's more of the words and speaking than the story telling. It's what helps with my writing style for my own novels.
Moderate: Animal death and Incest
Minor: Terminal illness, Religious bigotry, Fire/Fire injury, and Death

And yet I love Anne Rice's writing. I basically read this books just for the writing at this point.
