I listened to the audio book narrated by the author. Very easy listening - he has such an upbeat way of explaining his exploits in Japan. Very interesting and very funny at times.

This whole book felt like a love letter to the country, written in a style that reminded me of Michael Palin's documentaries and diaries. The narration masterfully navigates between humour and frustration of a young teacher in a foreign country, personal anecdotes blend really well with factual information about the places Chris Broad has lived in.

I've only seen one video with Chris before, and it was his rant about Mr Beast (which instantly earned my respect for this stranger lol), but after listening to his audiobook I'm definitely going to check out his videos about Japan!
