As someone who spend a year in Japan shortly after Chris came there, many things sounded familiar and nostalgic. It took me down memory lane and then along to a journey of somebody who stayed in Japan.
The arc going to the present day felt a bit rushed at times, which is understandable when you have to put ten years into one book and have a different focus on the different times within those years. I am not mad about it.
I enjoyed the narrative voice being very true to how Chris narrates his videos. Also, the cover art is gorgeous.
