Honestly, it's one of the best books I've read this year. It felt nostalgic, honest, and interesting. I've no criticism for the writing. I read every word in his voice and understood the British sarcasm. My only possible criticism is the massive leap in years, but that can be justified to some extent.

If you're a fan of Japan, Abroad in Japan, or want an interesting read, pick this book up!

No rating as this is a memoir but I can recommend this listen if you’re interested in Japan or travel books in general. I laughed so much at times and found the life Chris lead to be fascinating. It’s definitely made me want to visit Japan asap.

As a long time viewer of Chris’ channel, this felt like a lovely journey back through those videos I’d avidly watch through university.
Honest and funny. Will never tire of hearing the legendary story of Natsuki.
