didn’t expect to love this as much as I did — despite not losing my husband in a plane crash for 3 years, the sentiment of trying to force love to feel the same when you’re not the same people anymore is so deeply real, and I swear reading this book did more for me in this department of my life than 10 years of therapy. highly highly recommend, probably my new favorite TJR (even though it’s an oldie) - 4.5/5

This book was amazing. I selected the “sad” emoji for how this book made me feel but truly I went through almost all of the fable provided bitmoji emotion options except “unimpressed” because this book absolutely made an impression on me. It was beautifully written and thought provoking. This is only my second Taylor Jenkins Reid novel, the first being “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” which did leave me “unimpressed” but I am so glad I gave her another try!

Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books are so addicting and I’ve yet to read one I didn’t like. With that said, One True Loves stressed me out so bad! Would Emma pick the right guy for her (i.e. who I wanted her with) — her husband who she thought had died or her new fiancé? See? So stressful! What I liked most about One True Loves was the flashbacks for both Jesse and Sam. We got to see Emma’s journey of falling in love with Jesse, losing and grieving Jesse, getting reacquainted with Sam, falling in love with Sam, and Jesse coming back. Overall, One True Loves is a good read and will have you rooting for true love and being with the person that helps you grow.
