It took me a very long time to finish this book. The story was slow, not particularly gripping, and meandered a lot. I feel like there was two intrigues that did not need to be entertwined. The "ah-HA" moments were bizarre, with events that were happening for no reasons since evidence was already found somewhere else etc. I'm glad I finished it. I feel it needed a good editor, to identify things that were superfluous or dis not make sense.

The construction and execution of the crimes are impeccable. You don't know where the investigation is headed or who did it. However, I still don't love the personal relationships between Henley, her husband, and her boss. I feel like it's not wholly necessary to add that drama.

Again, Diveen Henry’s narration takes this book to the next level. I don’t think I would have read it if not for her performance.

I really liked The Jigsaw Man but I loved The Binding Room. Matheson writes in a way that really makes you feel invested in the characters, especially Henley. I gave it 5 stars even though the final twist was something I figured out early on, as I was gripped every second of this book and didn't really want it to be over. Looking forward to reading her next novel.
