I am obsessed with this series.

I thought the writing in this one improved greatly from book one even though book one wasn’t bad. The story was just told in a cleaner and clearer way. It made a huge difference.

The plot line here was great. It’s a difficult toe to line when talking about mental health and religion and I think she did it masterfully. I was absolutely hooked from the beginning just like book one. I believe the third book comes out tomorrow and I can’t wait to get it! I’ve really become a fan of Matheson.

4.5 I just enjoy these characters and Nadine Matheson's writing quite a bit. I did see the ending coming but even so I had a great time reading this ☺️

So happy to see Henley and crew back for another installment. Had this on the shelf for a while and so glad I picked it up again.

I love Henley's attitude and bad boss energy. She is a protagonist that I care deeply about and I'm happy that at the end of the book she appears to be taking a step in the right direction.

The pastor dead in his own church, I was hooked from the first page. So many twists and turns, so many suspects and victims, I never saw the ending coming. At all. Well worth the read and excited to see the next one!

As an avid Criminal Minds watcher, I didn’t find the premise of the main murder plot particularly original or compelling. I found the diversity of the characters felt forced at times, and there was a lot of time given to their personal lives, which I was not interested in at all. Overall it was well written and engaging, but could have been edited down - a snappier pace and more compact race to the truth would have negated my feelings about the concept.
