A tropey short-story about a battlerager turned vampire requires not only a deeper knowledge of the dark-elf hero and his friends, but also about the placement of this story in the D&D lore. While not amazingly bad, the naked-girl-fights-monsters trope is really tiresome, and all women are portrayed with gonflated breasts and butt-cheeks. The story is thin, although it had a lot of potential. The only reason to push onwards is to reach the illogical finale of the story. Characters feel nothing, I'm not sure if Drizzt's companion is not just a pair of breasts in a D&D adventure.

I guess it might work for 16-years-olds, this expose of prudish erotica with filler plot; the truly interesting story, that of the transformation of Pwent, the Battlerager, is just badly told through the pages of this comic novel. I guess I wasn't the intended audience, it happens.

I’ve been waiting to dive into the world of Drizzt for awhile now especially now that I play D&D and I have a feeling this was not the way to do so.

It was a beautifully done comic, but I just felt lost. There wasn’t any character development cause of course it happened previous to it and I didn’t love it. Hoping the books will be better.

Some really great artwork, not a lot of story, but worth 30 minutes of your time for Drizzt fans.

Nice, but not up to the caliber of the first six graphic novels.

Nothing happened.
It had a barely imaginative plot that just went from A to B, and B made no sense. The artwork was confusing - sometimes I felt I was looking at nothing more than a splurge of ink. The skill and style varied wildly - Drizzt looked different in almost every frame. It makes me think that someone is trying to copy Mignola.
And utterly failing.

This collection left me a bit cold for a couple of reasons. The artwork felt like it was webcomic with the airbrush effects and stark and simple line work. This is purely an aesthetic thing so no real points off for it. The biggest complaint I had was that the reader is thrust into the middle of a story. Granted, I fully understand that Drizzt is an institution and all so this is likely something that appeals more to people steeped in the canon. Being a person not, it was a quick and empty read that had only a modicum of entertainment.
