This was so cute, and I'm so glad that I read it. I can't wait to read more by these authors.

✨To me, this anthology is perfect (unlike the crusty movie)🫶✨

Why did I not think this would be an anthology of the various different storylines in Love, Actually??? Because that’s absolutely what it was, only a thousand times better than the movie. It was fast-paced, festive, and full of love stories that didn’t make me want to beat my TV screen with a hockey stick. The narrators were FANTASTIC. This is cinema.

Love in Spanglish by Zoey Castile was my favorite, followed closely by Only Yours by Sabrina Sol, All I Want for Nochebuena by Alexis Daria, Santa’s Eager Little Helper by Mia Sosa, and To Us, You Are Perfect by Alexis Daria and Adriana Herrera. But truly, I enjoyed every romance in this anthology; they each varied in steam, some with full scenes and some with just a kiss. I wanted full books of just about every story here.

The writing was lush and it felt incredibly cohesive, which was very impressive for so many different writers. Since the stories all intertwine and end together at the Nochebuena celebration, the authors did a wonderful job bringing a different style to each story, but the same energy and direction.

If you’ve had this on your TBR or read the ebook last year, I definitely recommend that you pick up the audiobook. It’s an incredible bang for your buck and an incredible listen!

I received an ALC via NetGalley and I preordered the audiobook. All opinions are honest and my own.

Taking place in the lead up to Christmas Eve or ‘Nochebuena’, this short story collection weaves together various stories of Latinx love. As the title suggests, it is loosely based on Love, Actually, however, tells each story at a time, rather than interweaving them. There are stories about everyone from the Mayor, to a substitute teacher, to porn stars, all of them falling in love fore the holidays.

I enjoyed this collection, as with all short stories, there were some I like better than others but I think this will come down to taste and preferences. It was definitely spicier than I had expected, for a collection called Amor, Actually…I had expected a focus on romance, rather than sex. Again, some stories threaded this needle better than others. Overall, I think the writing was very solid across the board, the stories were engaging and I think this has the potential to become a reread for many romance fans during the holidays. It was also fabulous to see a collection by and focusing on the Latinx community.

As I listened to the audiobook, it is worth mentioning that the performances were engaging and very well executed without exception. The narrators were all excellent!

3.5! liked some stories more than others (my top 3 were probably love in spanglish, to us you’re perfect and meet me under the mistletoe!!) but I’m just obsessed with this concept of every story being loosely inspired by a couple from love, actually and this is honestly just the perfect christmassy read (and a great way to read new and beloved authors)
