An important collection of stories revolving around the Stonewall uprising. The book is devided into three parts: predating Stonewall, Stonewall itself, and after Stonewall. Some pieces I liked better than others, naturally. Personally, I really missed the bisexual representation in the book.

this book provided a fascinating insight (for me, 21 and kinda stupid) into how life was before stonewall, how the riots happened, and how things changed afterwards.

One of the best anthologies I’ve read. Queerness is rooted in radical rebellion and this collection is an excellent reminder of that origin.

This covered Stonewall from so many different angles and perspectives. I really liked how the essays were grouped by Before/During/After Stonewall. There was also great attention into intersectionality within the movement, perspectives of different races, sexual orientations, and gender identities allowed everyone's voice to be heard. Some essays felt a little slow.
