The multiple twists right at the end were a shock, I saw one coming but was not prepared for more. Definitely a lot of triggering and upsetting situations but a good thriller.

The book follows a woman called Geo. When she was 16, she was an accomplice to the murder of her best friend. The murderer goes on to become a local serial killer. We see her being charged with the murder however, when the sentence is up, 5 years later, someone starts killing again.

It's a good read. The book was gripping and fast paced. I managed to finish it within about 13 hours. If I didn't sleep, I could have finished it in one go. This book does jump around the timeline to tell this story. So it's not a chronological story. I wouldn't say the characters are likeable but it is more of a plot based story. The big reveal of the killer was a bit disappointing, as was the end of the story. If I liked the ending, I think this book would have been 4 stars. I'll also know I'll forget about this boon soon which is why I wouldn't rate it 4 stars. But I also appreciate this book because it was a good choice for me to read in my goal to read more books whilst I still can during this holiday.

A slow burn thriller involving a serial killer, a dead girl and her convicted best friend. There was unnecessary information at times but the book was still fairly short and well written.
It was good but not mind blowing. If you read thrillers, you’d probably be underwhelmed by this one.
It was very dark and gory. There are a lot of details of bodies being dismembered and children being murdered.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book, I felt like the middle was a little dry and repetitive it also had A LOT going on and could be a lot to follow.

It's a very dark book with all dark things you can imagine. At times I felt like they were thrown in more for shock value than to go with the story.

Well, I started this in an attempt to get out of a reading slump and it most definitely did the job. Nearly every twist had my jaw on the floor. This is a tough read, lots of really heavy topics and grisly imagery, but that ending takes the cake. I feel more than a bit torn by the final conclusion, not sure how I feel about it or how I *should* feel. There are some highly problematic assumptions and implications here… i so badly wanted to give this 4 stars but i just CAN’T because of that ending. The story as a whole, though, very well done.
