This thriller had me gripped from the first page. Even though I guessed one of the twists, I was still taken by surprise (and horror) by the other. The ending was fitting. 1.25 stars lost for horrid fatphobia in the early part of the book.

The ending. This ending. Spoilers for the ending of this book obviously...
The plot twist wasn't exactly revealed in a satisfying way and that's okay. What I despised about this ending was the way the serial rapist/abusive ex comes in and saves the day. He gets to rush in, play hero, and almost be portrayed as Geo's guardian angel. Besides the chapter immediately before where it's revealed he isn't into chopping up bodies (bare minimum, bro) the last time we saw this guy he was sexually assaulting the protagonist. Now he is saving the 'damsel in distress'? Besides some other small frustrations, I really liked this story, but that angered me so much, the way Calvin ALMOST seemed redeemable at the end.
